We live in a digitally connected society, yet we’ve never felt more disconnected.
If you ever feel lonely or like you don’t fit in… you’re not alone.
Social connection is key to our societies’ health, safety, and prosperity. Not having enough of it can impact our longevity as much as smoking 15 cigarettes a day. However, loneliness and social isolation have reached alarming levels, being declared a ‘global public health concern’ by the World Health Organization.
More than that, our societies are divided and polarised. Discrimination is on the rise, and global inequalities are close to what they were back in the early 1900s. This is making people, especially those already vulnerable, like migrants and minorities, feel even more isolated and alone.
